Your Skylight Expert was established to address a specific problem:
I had a shadowy area that was perfect for an indoor tree, but there was insufficient light, causing the tree to lose its leaves. After some research, I discovered the Sun Tunnel®, a "Tubular Skylight" or "Sun Tunnel" by VELUX® turned out to be the perfect solution.
However, I encountered a new challenge—there were no VELUX installers or dealers in my area (Maineville, Ohio).
Drawing on my 35 years of experience in the remodeling industry where my son has worked along side me since he was age 13, at Countertops and Cabinetry by Design, my son and I set out to solve both problems.
1. VELUX needed a Skylight Specialist and Dealer in Cincinnati.
2. I needed their product, so we knew others did too.
Thus, Your Skylight Expert was founded in 2023 to become the VELUX Skylight Specialist And Authorized VELUX Dealer in Greater Cincinnati, Ohio, Founded by myself, Chris Holtz and my son Chris Holtz II.

Above and Beyond! Chris and his crew installed a new whole house fan and attic fan last fall. I had been wanting to replace the old one in my house and had a difficult time finding someone who could recommend and install one (lots of electricians install them but you have to purchase one first and I had no idea what I needed). Chris gave me an estimate and installation was completed within 2 weeks. This has to be the #1 best improvement I've made to my house! I immediately noticed a difference in the smell and feel of the air inside my home. The best part is turning on the whole house fan in the evenings/nights when it's cooler outside. The air flow is spectacular! My electric bill has also decreased since I don't need to turn on the air as often. Overall, I'm extremely happy with the recommendations and service I received. My ceiling where the old fan was had to be patched because the new fan is much smaller. By the time the crew left, there wasn't a spec of dust on the floor. And BONUS, they came on trash day and actually brought my garbage cans in for me. Your Skylight Expert goes above and beyond, and I'm thrilled with it all!
